ELEVATION
(C. Baudelaire)
Above the lake
in the valley
and the grove
along the hillside,
high over the sea
and the passing clouds,
and even past the sun!
to the farthest confines
of the starry vault
mount,my spirit,
wander at you ease
and range exultant
through transparent space
like a rugged swimmer
revelling in the waves
with an unutter male delight.
Ascend beyond the sickly atmosphere
to a higher plane
and purify yourself
by drinking
as if it were
ambrosia
the fire that
fills and fuels Emptiness.
Free from the futile
strivings and the cares
which dim existence
to a realm of mist
free is he
who wings
an upward way
on mighty pinions
to the fields of light
whose thoughts
like rising larks
into the morning sky
whose flight
unchecked
outreaches life
and comprehends
the language of flowers
and of all mute things
Ascend beyond
to a higher plane
purify
drinking
the fire
that fills and fuels
Emptiness
Free from the
strivings and the cares
which dim existence
to a realm of mist
free is he
who wings an upward way
on mighty pinions
to the fields of light

A slow progression of the chords, vocals as well as drums that work as a counterpoint and are performed in sync with the guitars. The sound is massive and at times like a wall of noise[...]

A blackened doom concept record about the very real problem of amphibian extinction, “Croak” is a punishing, essential listen. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 23, 2022
Joseph Hawker subverts the musical and sociopolitical status quo with a black metal triptych that's as incendiary as it is impressionistic. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 5, 2022

Music is really good, the vocals go with what's being played. Slow and majestic. Goes into a bit harder towards the end and then brings back slow and majestic but with more volume. hitmobong
