I PRIZE THE MEMORY . .
(C. Baudelaire)
I prize the memory
of naked ages
when
Apollo relished
gilding marble limbs
whose agile-fleshed-originals
achieved
their ecstasy
with neither fraud
nor fear
and nursed by the sky
enjoyed the health
of a sublime machine
Cybele then
abundant in her yield
did not regard
her sons
as burdensome
but tender-hearted she-wolf
graciously
suckled the universe
at her brown dugs
Lithe and powerful
a man deserved
his pride in beauties
who called him their king
flawless fruit
engendered without shame
whose ripened flesh
asked only to be tried!
Today the poet eager to recall
such human splendor
in our corruption we possess
the beauties unrevealed
to ancient times
youth we worship still
its untroubled brow,
its eyes as bright
as water
sacred youth
the scent of flowers
that shares
its song, its scent, its irresistible warmth!

A blackened doom concept record about the very real problem of amphibian extinction, “Croak” is a punishing, essential listen. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 23, 2022
Joseph Hawker subverts the musical and sociopolitical status quo with a black metal triptych that's as incendiary as it is impressionistic. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 5, 2022

Music is really good, the vocals go with what's being played. Slow and majestic. Goes into a bit harder towards the end and then brings back slow and majestic but with more volume. hitmobong
